Rev. Hamish Currie, a Sault Ste Marie Ontario native, is the new pastor of the city's oldest Catholic church, Precious Blood Cathedral located on Queen St. East. Rev. Currie was ordained in 1980 at Blessed Sacrament where he served at the Cathcart Street church for five years before being appointed to St. Jerome's in 2000. The Sault Collegiate Institute graduate has also worked in Sudbury, Toronto, Hanmer and Wawa. Rev. Currie begins work at Precious Blood Cathedral on Jan. 4, 2010. He served at St. Jerome's parish during the years 2000 - 2009.
