Help Wanted - Young People's Church | St. Jerome Parish

Young People’s Church needs 6 new leaders.

We need 2 leaders in each of our 3 groups:

Pre-school to SK. (stories, songs, finger play)

Gr. 1 – 3 (simplified Liturgy of the Word with gospel reading at children’s level; discussion-homily, activities related to theme of gospel)

Gr. 4 – 6 (Liturgy of the Word that with discussion-homily appropriate to this age group)

You may say that you are not qualified, not a teacher, not a theology expert. Guess what? You don’t need to be. Material is available to tell you what to say. Other people are eager to share their experience and expertise with you.

Here is what you do need:

 A love of working with children

 A desire to share your faith in God and teach our young people to love Jesus

 An hour or so to prepare the week before your scheduled Sunday (help is always a phone call or email away)

The benefits are considerable:

 The joy of watching a child’s faith grow

 Your own faith will grow as you share it with the children

 You will be part of the exciting growth we are experiencing in our parish

Please consider prayerfully whether or not this ministry is for you. Men, women, parents, grandparents, older teens – there is a place for all.
